Upper Buffalo Wilderness Area, Hawk Hollow Overnight Backpack

On Friday afternoon I entered the forest. The temp was 71° with sunny skies and a moderate breeze. My destination was Hawk Hollow in the Upper Buffalo Wilderness Area. Upon arrival camp was arranged with a view up the Buffalo River. The fall colors were a disappointment. The sun set and some food was had. No fire. Sleep was obtained and the sun began to rise. The low temp was 45°. I left and by 8:40 returned to my car. The total hike rang in at 5.75 miles. It was good to get out.
