Denny's...Russellville...breakfast. Then north! 5:00 a.m. 50°. Begin stealthy passage up dirt road avoiding the waking of local dogs. Into the woods...very brushy but penetration successful with bluff line in view. Bluff line crappy. Down slope towards creek with similar obstacles as before. Creek found...followed upstream. Pheasantbird Falls found. Continued to follow creek, then up the slope to bluff. Lunch. Leisure. Back into brush patch. Arrived at origin point at 12:45. Temp 68°. Total loop 5.7 miles. Hike notable but difficult.
