Gunner Pool
Camping at Gunner Pool on North Sylamore Creek, Ozark National Forest

North Sylamore Creek is a very unique stream in north central Arkansas. My wife Elita and I spent some time camping at Gunner Pool right on the creek. We hiked the the stream bed in both directions and found it to be delightful in nature. The days were kind of hot and the nights were reasonably comfortable for this time of year. A short section of the Syllamo Mountain Bike Trail Complex was also hiked to a bluff overlooking the White River. We did have to kick over a couple of riders that tried to pass us with too much speed. On the way home we stopped in Mountain View and had breakfast. Rain threatened us on occasion but was dodged nicely.
