Leatherwood Wilderness Area, Middle Creek hike of madness

Winter! This is a great time to wander the terrain. This wilderness has much to wander around. Many a fine creek flows in these valleys. Middle Creek is one. Leatherwood Creek is another. These two creeks form Leatherwood's vast watershed. With 19° and clear skies, the forest here was entered at 5:05 a.m. A ridge was followed out and a valley was followed back. Many wild creatures were eaten along the way. Many bears wrestled with...all defeated. By 1:45 with 35° the shrubbery was exited. Close to 10 miles were logged...all hellacious in nature. No human was encountered. It was good to be bipedal on this day.
