Dismal Creek
Hike up Dismal Creek, tributary of the Upper Big Piney Creek, Ozark National Forest4/15/18
Dismal Creek. Go to the Glory Hole and follow the creek downstream and it is there. It empties into upper Big Piney Creek. My route was from the bottom heading upstream. The morning started at 5:25 with 56°, clouds and the promise of wind. By 9:00 the clouds cleared and the wind arrived. The morning remained pleasant as my route snaked up the drainage. Lunch was partaken of at 11:00 with much relaxing under the warming sun on a bed of rocks. I then climbed out of the valley and by 12:20 my vehicle greeted me. By now the temp was 50° with abundant wind. Miles hiked equaled 4.9.
