Talimena Scenic DriveLate afternoon drive west on the Talimena Scenic Drive in Arkansas and Oklahoma

One of my favorite places to drive to in the afternoon is the Talimena Scenic Drive or Talimena Scenic Byway as it is called today. The mountains are beautiful there on both the Arkansas and Oklahoma sides. Traffic is typically very light and you feel like you have the whole road to yourself. Driving into the sunset is quite a pleasure. After visiting here I drove north into the Ozarks and slept in my car for 3-4 hours before ending up at Petit Jean State Park. Breakfast at Mather Lodge is beyond compare. I then drove home.
