Gladon Creek
Overnight backpack to Gladon Creek for bluff inside bluff action
2/22/20
Great haste was made north. Arrival was made quickly. Entry into the forest occurred at 3:15 p.m. Not long after that, my bluff lay before me. I mounted it and set up camp. It was 44° with a moderate breeze. The light from above the earth was uninhibited. Time was short, so I crammed in as much viewing of the surrounding terrain as possible for that time range. The sun set with smooth downward action. I watched it with delight. It was missed soon afterward...for darkness came next. With darkness comes peril. Deadly woodland creatures conspire to have their way with you. My perimeter of urine would keep them away. If they come, their next vision would be that of the rocks below. I ate my chicken. The temp was falling. The tent called...I entered. Very little sleep was incurred. I rose early and moved away from my bluff camp. It was now 28° and fairly windy. Southward, then...to Dover. Breakfast at Dewayne's in Dover. Goodness was obtained there. Home.
