Falling Water Creek
Drive along Falling Water Creek with Richland Creek Wilderness edge action
4/4/20
We made for the north at a late 5:30 a.m. Cloudy skies gave notice of the potential morning rain we might encounter at ant time. This rain could be deadly. We feared not. Please remember that this adventure was meant to be manly...even for my wife, who is sometimes more of a man than I. The temp was in the uppers 40's on departure. As we continued farther north and gained more altitude, the temp maintained a downward trajectory and bottomed out at 38°. There was a wind if fair magnitude, but not too uncomfortable. We drove down the gravel road and soon hit valley bottom. This was the valley of Falling Water Creek. The road follows the creek for much of its course. This makes for ease of viewing but takes away from the solitude desired while out in the shrubbery. Many wonders of spring were observed as we made our way northward. Before long, we were back up on the ridges and into the low clouds. A picnic style lunch was taken in the back of the wagon just off Hwy 7. This provided us with much needed succor, as it had been a while since the eating of the breakfast. We then moved south and ultimately arrived home.
