Lower Richland Creek
Action Hike above the lower Richland Creek Valley
4/18/20
This is a land of never ending bluff action. The northwest quarter of Arkansas has an abundance of natural beauty. To see this beauty, one must leave the the roads and trails and venture beyond the well trodden ground. The valleys and creeks at their bases call to me daily. I can only answer on occasion. The bluffs that trim the upper edges of these valleys afford views of purest loveliness. Richland Creek flows through a valley with many features such as these. On this spring morning, I ventured forth and partook of this landscape of purest manliness. Women would most likely like it too.
Entry was achieved at 5:10 a.m. with 34° and crear skies...only a sliver of a moon rose ahead of the sun to the east. My chosen bluff was mounted and the wait for the sun began. It came up. My eyes were witness to the brightness. Looking up and down the valley provided much joy to my loins. A low fog slowly lifted and disappeared as higher altitudes exposed the moisture to the wind, which was slight. When the time came, I moved north along the bluffline. It was noted to be of fine quality. I small creek plummeted over numerous rocky surfaces as it moved with haste to the mother creek below. I observed these items and then aimed myself back the west. My vehicle was located at 9:55 with the temp now around 50°. This hike covered 3 miles of near deadly terrain.
