Leatherwood Wilderness Area
Overnight backpacking to hell in the Leatherwood Wilderness Area with bluff action
3/23/21
Tuesday morning it rained. Clearing was scheduled for later that day. I took the forecast as true and headed north to Greenbriar for breakfast. The Wagon Wheel Restaurant served up some decent grub meats and other typical breakfast fare at my pleasing. My drive continued north through Marshall and eventually to my destination at the Leatherwood Wilderness Area. Entry was made at 10:50. An occasional very light drizzle fell upon me, and then departed as the clouds began to slowly thin. It was 58° and quite blustery. After a few miles, my bluff location was before me. I mounted it and had some lunch.
Camp was set and much lounging was partaken of. The sun warmed my loins and face and provided me with much pleasure. Eventually the sun sank and darkness engulfed my ass. Many stars and constellations were observed. The wind eventually diminished to almost nothing. I entered my hammock and proceeded with sleep. I arose to clear skies and 45°. The air was without wind. After a time my gear was packed I was hiking back. At 10:50 I arrived back to my origin. It was 62°. The total distance was 7.5 miles.
