Hudson Mountain
Hike along a bluff line near Hudson Mountain with Jimbobwhe shelter action
9/7/21
I lived with the Jimbobwhe tribe from age 9 to age 91/2. What was learned from these indigenous Native Americans has helped me throughout all aspects of life. This knowledge has kept me alive on numerous occasions out in the wild. My bushcraft skills are the envy of most outdoorsmen and also some indoors women, thanks to the teachings if Chief Jimbawb. On this outing I visited an ancient Jimbobwhe bluff style dwelling. There, I practiced my craft and lived off the land for approximately two to three hours. The day began at 5:00 a.m. with 67°, clear skies and no moon. Many bluff lines were traversed and explored. Wild edibles were gathered and prepared...bushcraft style. More civilized foodstuffs were had earlier at Waffle House in Russellville. These, sadly, were not cooked in the bushcraft tradition. This morning's activities really took me back to those childhood days when men were men and women were also men. The forest was exited at 10:30 with 79°. My stomach cramps subsided later that evening (some nuts and berries may have actually not been edible).
