Upper Long Creek
Bluff hike above Upper Long Creek, Ozark National Forest
9/15/21
On the southern edge of Woods Mountain the land falls away into great chasms of death. One of these chasms forms the beginning of Long Creek. Breakfast was at Waffle House in Clarksville. The forest was penetrated at 4:45 with 68° with mostly clear skies. My desired bluff line was occupied at a bit early, so some time was spent just lounging about in the darkness. When the sun did finally come, the skies were still quite clear and a cool southerly breeze flowed across my moistened appendages. The skies began to cloud up as I continued walking, but the day was one of fine quality. I exited around out at 10:00 with 73°. My total hike was around 2.6 miles.
