Drive up Highway 7 in the Ouachita National Forest

Highway 7 in Arkansas is an official Scenic Byway. On this rainy morning I drove north from Hot Springs to Nimrod. Breakfast was tasty yet very overpriced at the Colonial Pancake and Waffle and Eggs and Bacon House. The morning was warm at 63 degrees. Most of the rain had subsided as I drove northward. A stop at Iron Springs Recreation Area was lovely, as usual. It appears that all of the old bridges along this stretch are being replaced one by one. This is needed, but sad...for the old bridges added great character to the highway.
