Hike on Tilly Creek, tributary of Big Creek, Ozark National Forest

Tilly Creek begins as a headwater creek to Big Creek. Big Creek eventually flows past Sam's Throne. Breakfast was at Waff Ho in Russellville. The Woods were penetrated at 4:35 with 56° and mostly clear skies and no wind. A bluff was sought after but one of quality was never found. The forest was quite difficult in this area, so I headed back out of the valley. At 8:00 with 62° and mostly cloudy skies, my starting point was within view. My proximity to Richland Creek prompted me to go to that area. A bluff that I had never seen before was found and mounted. It afforded a goodly view of the Richland valley. It was then, and only then, that my way was made back to the south and ultimately, back home. My Tilly Creek hike covered about 3.5miles.
