Bluff hike to Pilot Knob with knob-like action

If ever you've wondered about knob action, you've come to the right place. High above Big piney Creek, Pilot Knob Ridge resides and guards over the valley below. This valley has a patchwork of fields and streams and forests. The woods were entered at 4:50 a.m. with 58° and clear skies. An old road bed was traced much of the way along a narrow ridge. This area contains numerous bluffs and rocky outcroppings. I hiked nearby Home Valley Bluff in 2013. Exit was made at 10:20 with 76°. The route covered 4.5 miles.
