Alum Cove Natural Bridge
Hike with wife to the natural bridge at the Alum Cove Recreation Area
10/23/22
My wife Elita and I were out Sunday morning and decided to jump down to this natural wonder of the Arkansas backwoods. After a tasty breakfast at the Ozark Cafe in Jasper, we headed south and there we were. We entered at 9:50 with 65° and partly cloudy skies. The hike is less than a mile round trip unless you do the entire loop. I am not aware of the mileage there. This is one, if not the coolest natural bridges in the state. It appears to have started as a shelter style cave, and over time, a portion gave way leaving a gap. We were out by out at 11:10 with 66°. It was a lovely time spent man and wife style.
