The Illinois Bayou has quite a large watershed. Recent hikes were in the area of the East Fork. This time, it's in the area of the North Fork. Breakfast was at truck stop Denny's In Russellville. The forest was entered by following a ridge just to the east. It was 5:25 and 28°. The skies started clear. A handy old but rugged road made this easy. The beginnings of a bluff line was found and followed. By the time the side hollow hit the Nork Fork the bluffs were tall enough to provide a view. The sun came up and clouds intermittently blocked it's light. After this, some more of the forest in the area was explored as I looped my way back towards my starting point. By 11:25 with 45° my vehicle was in view. The hike measured out to be 4 miles.
