Dry Spadra Creek
Bluff hike above Dry Spadra Creek with dehydrating action
11/3/23
So, yeah. There was this one time, when I went into this area. Well, actually, it was two times. On this hike the valley was entered once more. At 5:45 a.m. with 40° and clear skies, the forest was penetrated...hard. Spadra Creek, Dry Spadra Creek and the many forks of Horsehead Creek all enter into the Arkansas River Valley while exiting the Ozark Plateau. Many other creeks do this as well. The valleys of these creeks tend to be quite deep and rugged. Getting to my chosen bluff line proved to be difficult. The location that was mounted in the end and turned out to be quite lovely. Time was spent there with observation of the sunrise and the surrounding valley. After that, I headed back and exited the woods at 10:30 with 54°. The distance covered was 3.5 miles.
