Hike along the bluff line above Lost Valley
8/22/24
In the summer of 1963, this long lost valley was rediscovered and aptly named, Lost Valley. The discovery team originally used Long Lost Pretty Valley but that was overturned by the men in the group. The former name better described the basin, but no. At 4:45 with 60° and fog, the area was entered and mounted. Immediately my path was towards the sky. The bluff line was located and followed until it met up with Clark Creek. At that point I made my way down to the trail and followed it back to my OTU (Outdoor Transportation Unit). This occurred at 10:35 with 66°. Many natural wonders were observed along the way. The hike covered 3.7 miles of rugged beauty. My survival was vigorously challenged.
