Hike down to Big Creek with large stream action
4/28/25
It was 4:20 on Monday morning. It was 63° with mostly cloudy skies. There was wind. There was moisture on the forest floor. The way down past the bluff line was quite steep, wet and yes...deadly. The time it took to hit the creek at the bottom seemed quite long...because it was. The big creek was followed upstream until the confluence with Battle creek on the left. this smaller tributary was traced upward until a way up was discovered. Exit from this hell hole occured at 9:45 with 70°. The entire hike was 4 miles but felt like 10.
