Hike on Cow Creek, a tributary of Big Piney Creek
3/12/26
Never before have I visited this watershed. There is logging all around the area, which ruins it. A decision was made to go there anyway. At 5:15 with 32° and clear skies, the "forest" was entered. The bluff line was explored and was quite lovely, save for the evidence of logging years ago. This is a beautiful area being ruined by timber harvesting. What can you do. Undercuts abound and the waterfalls there are interesting. The creek is of fine quality. The surrounding terrain would also be, but no. Exit was made at 11:20 with 50°. Ground covered equaled 4.4 miles.
