Lower Buffalo River

On this morning my kayak entered the slow flowing and warm water of the Buffalo at the Rush access. It was 5:50 a.m. with 76° and fog. The visibility was good. I paddled downstream with the Lower Buffalo Wilderness around me on both banks. Numerous lunker style bass were retrieved from the depths of the river. At least two of those were eaten raw. No less than two gravel bars were mounted. It was on these natural bars of sand and rock that the morning was partaken of. Then the trip back upstream was begun. My entry point was arrived back to at 9:10 with 82°. The river level at Rush was 3.1 feet, lower than typically required.
