Let us begin. The Big Piney Creek...so damned big it is...long, really. Many areas along its banks provide us with much bountiful beauty. In a continuing series, I hiked to the remaining bluff lines in this area. See other hikes here, here and here. Entry time was 5:15 a.m. with 50° and mostly cloudy skies. Breakfast was at Waffle House in Russellville just prior. This hike featured much treacherous terrain. Numerous hollows and an over abundance of boulders made forward advancement a difficult endeavor. The bluff line was very irregular in shape. The forest was vegetation rich. The combination of all these factors could only lead to one outcome...death, with ultimate damnation. Luckily...I overcame these odds to finish with a relaxing lunch overlooking the broad Piney valley. A hawk accompanied me and showed me the way when the direction was in question. Thanks dude. I left the woods at 12:50 with 65° and sunny skies. The distance was 3.5 miles.
