Hike to the Mulberry River near Anvil Rock
10/18/22
Fall is upon us...let us rejoice unto the multitudes of the colors. This hike takes me back to the Mulberry River at Salt Springs Bend. See my last hike from the other side of the river here. Getting to the bluff line on the south side was an easy task. The road going in was a bit tricky, though. I arrived at the bluff well before sunrise. With time to kill and a cool temperature, it made sense to build a fire in the meantime. It was 39° going in at 5:30. A fairly crappy breakfast was had at the Hillbilly Hideout near Ozark. After sunrise, my way was made downstream along the narrow ridge that parallels the river. Lunch was partaken of on a cozy bluff that had a hidden view. Exit was made from the forest at 11:15 with 45°. This miniscule hike covered 2 miles. The views were very vice.
